“SCRIPT” Train Claude to Write Content That Actually Sounds Like You

Claude sucks at creating content. Not because the model is bad. Because it has no idea what works in YOUR niche or how YOU talk. Out of the box it writes like every other AI: safe hooks, corporate words, zero personality. The fix isn't better prompting. It's giving Claude the data it's missing. Here's the exact system.

Why Claude writes slop by default

Claude was trained on the whole internet. That means it writes like the average of the whole internet. Average hooks. Average structure. Average everything.

But viral content isn't average. Your best posts worked because of specific patterns: the hook you opened with, the way you phrase things, the words you'd never say.

Claude knows none of that. So when you say "write me a reel script about AI automation," it guesses. And its guess is generic.

The good news: Claude is the best pattern-copier on the planet. Feed it YOUR patterns and it stops guessing. Three steps. Takes an afternoon to set up. Pays off on every script after that.

STEP #1

Scrape and transcribe your best content (plus your top 5 competitors)

You need raw material: real scripts that already won. Two sources:

  1. Your own top performers. Your voice, proven with your audience.
  2. Your top 5 competitors' viral posts. Hook patterns that work in your niche, even ones you haven't tried.

First, connect the Apify MCP to Claude Code (free account at apify.com, then add the Apify MCP server). Apify is a scraping marketplace: it pulls posts, captions, and video URLs from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube without you touching code.

Then pick your 5 competitors. Not the biggest accounts. The ones your size or slightly bigger whose content pops off. Outliers beat celebrities: a 10k account with a 500k view reel is teaching you something a 5M account can't.

Copy-paste prompt:

Use the Apify Instagram scraper to pull the posts from these accounts: [@your-handle], [@competitor1], [@competitor2], [@competitor3], [@competitor4], [@competitor5] For each account: 1. Sort posts by views/engagement and keep the top 10 outliers (posts that massively outperform that account's average). 2. Download each video and transcribe it with Whisper. 3. Save each transcript to a folder called "content-corpus" — one file per post, named [account]-[views]-[short-slug].md 4. At the top of each file, note: account, views, likes, post date, and the first line of the hook.

Claude will run the scrapes, download the videos, and transcribe them. When it's done you have a folder of 50-60 proven scripts. That folder is gold. It's the training data Claude never had.

One warning:don't skip transcription and just save captions. The caption isn't the script. The spoken words are where the hooks and patterns live.

STEP #2

Build a /script skill from your patterns

A skill is just a markdown file with instructions Claude loads every time you trigger it. Instead of re-explaining your voice in every chat, you build it once and type /script forever.

But don't write the skill yourself. Make Claude study your corpus and extract the patterns FOR you.

Copy-paste prompt (run this first):

Read every transcript in the content-corpus folder. Analyze them and give me: 1. HOOK PATTERNS: The 10 most common hook structures across the outliers. Write each as a fill-in-the-blank template (e.g. "Stop doing [common thing]. Do [contrarian thing] instead.") 2. MY VOICE: From MY transcripts only — my sentence length, energy, words and phrases I use constantly, and words I never use. 3. STRUCTURE: The typical flow of a winning script (hook, setup, payoff, CTA) with timing. 4. CTA PATTERNS: How the winners end (comment word, follow ask, etc.) Show me the analysis before doing anything else.

Review what it finds. Correct anything that's off ("I'd never say 'folks'", "my hooks are shorter than that"). This review matters: garbage analysis becomes a garbage skill.

Then run this:

Now create a skill called /script using the skill-creator skill. The skill should: 1. Ask me for a topic (or pull one from my notes/news sources). 2. Pick a hook template from the hook patterns file — never invent a hook from scratch. 3. Write a 30-45 second reel script in my voice using the voice rules file. 4. Follow my winning structure: hook in the first line, one idea per script, CTA at the end. 5. Hard rules: no em dashes, short sentences, sixth-grade reading level, no corporate words. Store the hook patterns, voice rules, and structure notes as separate files inside the skill folder so I can edit them later.

Now typing /script gives you a draft built from proven hooks in your actual voice. Not perfect yet. That's what Step 3 is for.

STEP #3

Correct every script and make Claude remember

This is the step everyone skips. And it's the one that separates "pretty good" from "sounds exactly like me."

Every time /script gives you a draft, you'll change things. A word here. A hook there. Most people make those edits in their head, record the video, and move on. All that feedback evaporates.

Instead: correct the script IN the chat, and make Claude log every correction.

Copy-paste prompt (add this to your /script skill):

Add a feedback loop to the /script skill: 1. After I give edits or paste back my final recorded version, save an entry to a file called revisions-log.md inside the skill folder. 2. Each entry: date, the line Claude wrote, the line I changed it to, and the lesson (why I changed it). 3. Every time /script runs, read revisions-log.md BEFORE writing and apply every lesson. 4. If the same type of correction appears 3+ times, promote it to a permanent rule in the voice rules file.

Then your workflow on every script is dead simple:

Here's my final version after edits: [paste your edited script] Compare it to your draft. Log every change to the revisions log with the lesson behind it. Update the voice rules if you see a repeated pattern.

The first script needs 15 edits. The fifth needs 8. By script 10, you're changing a word or two. The skill literally gets better every time you use it, because it never makes the same mistake twice.

That's the whole trick. Claude doesn't learn on its own. You have to build the memory. Once you do, you have a script writer that works for free, never sleeps, and gets more "you" every week.

What this sets you up for

Once the loop is running, you can bolt on more:

  • Auto-refresh the hook database. Schedule a weekly scrape so new competitor outliers flow in automatically.
  • Ideas on tap. Point the skill at news sources in your niche so it suggests topics, not just scripts.
  • Repurposing. Feed it any viral reel URL and have it rewrite the idea in your voice.

But don't start there. Start with the three steps. Scrape. Build the skill. Correct and log. Everything else stacks on top.
